A Prayer based on Luke 17:5

The following is a prayer I wrote back in January based on Luke 17:5. It’s a prayer that I probably don’t pray enough. And yet, it seems to me, that it’s a prayer that our Lord longs to hear from us.

Blessings,
Dale

Luke 17:5 – The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”

Lord, increase my faith as you did with the Apostles at Pentecost. That’s my prayer… the great desire of my heart. To be filled with your Spirit (more of you), to know you immeasurably better, to love you exponentially more, to follow you ever more closely and, thereby, to become more like your Son, is the great longing of my soul. “Increase my faith Lord,” should be the resounding song of all of your followers.

You tell us in your Word that if our faith was even the size of a mustard seed, we could move mountains. How small our faith must actually be in reality. “Lord, increase our faith.”

What might we do for your Kingdom if you would increase our faith. O Lord, give us your grace, your Spirit, your power, your wisdom, your revelation, lest your people perish. Give us faith to stand in the gap where there is no recognition of your Kingdom. Enable us to declare your Kingdom’s presence (your presence) boldly. Change the world through us, your servants, Almighty God.

Lord, you give us faith. You even give more faith to those who desire it. It is a gift freely given to us by you. Yet you bless us for exercising it. What a wonderfully mysterious and divine economy you operate by O Lord.

Blessed be your Name.
Amen.
